Hey Centennial,

Are you an instruction follower or an instruction ignorer?

Don’t lie to yourself, be bold, admit what you know to be true. Some of us meticulously attend to every detail provided in the instruction manuals for everything we purchase. A new expresso machine, furniture from IKEA, home security systems, it all comes with instructions. Some of us, on the other hand, have a deeply held belief.

I can figure it out on my own, I don’t need instructions!

This Sunday, we are going to be looking at some of the instructions God gave to his people, the nation of Israel, thousands of years ago. Turns out, he included a lot of specifics and details. The reason he gave these instructions was to ensure he could have a full and flourishing relationship with his people. God wants to speak to and be with his people.

The question for us is,

“Am I following the patterns God has given me for flourishing in life?”

It turns out, the pattern God gave is way more life giving than a manual from IKEA. I hope you gather with us at 9:00 or 10:30 this Sunday morning as we continue our sermon series, Jesus First, walking page by page through the New Testament book of Hebrews.

Grace and peace,

Karl

P.S. Also this Sunday, we are going to have a time of prayer that is a continuation of the Sunday morning prayer time we had on March 5th. I will be sharing more about a congregational conversation we are launching this week. There will be a specific call to action, inviting you to sign up to join the conversation. Keep an eye out for more information about that.
