Hey Centennial,

For three weeks, we’ve explored the striking contrast between the ways of the kingdoms of this world and the way of the Kingdom of God. They couldn’t be more different, and the tug of war between them plays out daily in our hearts, minds, relationships, and communities.

Which way will you live?

God made this contrast clear to the Israelites through the prophet Zechariah:

“Not by power nor might, but by my Spirit,” says the Lord.

These contrasting ways of life were present in Israel’s ancient past, they’re present in our daily lives, and they were present in the world Jesus was born into. Regardless of the time or place, the contrast remains, and the choice is the same:

Will you live by the Power and Might ways of the world, or by the humble way of our Savior, born in a manger?

This Sunday, we’ll hear that invitation again from a new preacher on the platform. Brent Glossinger, a long-time part of CCC, is a Bible teacher at Valor High School and a thoughtful contributor to our preaching team planning meetings. Brent will preach the final sermon in our Advent series, preparing us to celebrate the birth of Christ together on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

We celebrate a God who shows His power by becoming small and His might by becoming vulnerable.

Eager to worship with you this Sunday!

Grace and peace,

Karl
