Hey Centennial,

This Sunday, we continue our Advent sermon series, Not by Might. The whole series is meant to help us understand one of the fundamental contrasts presented by scripture.

There is a difference between the ways of the world of the ways of God.

Lots of different words are used to describe this contrast. The Kingdom of God is different than the kingdoms of the world. Pride is contrasted with humility. Light overcomes darkness. Or, as the OT Prophet Zechariah spoke,

Not by power nor by might, but by my Spirit.

How do we live by the Spirit this Advent?

Last Sunday, we considered this contrast by looking at an ancient building project the Israelites undertook. It was the right work, but they went about it in the wrong way. This Sunday, we look at a writing penned after the birth, life, death, and resurrection of Christ, Paul’s letter to the Ephesian church.

The children in our His Kids ministry will also be singing during worship, so you may want to come early to get a seat. We always set up extra chairs, and they always fill!

Eager to worship as a community.

Grace and peace,

Karl
