Hey Centennial,
What are the masks you wear?
Whew! That’s a heavy question to ask! Don’t worry, you have some time to marinate on your answer. That question is going to be the focus of our worship gathering this Sunday. We will continue our practice of the Lord’s prayer together. We will take a moment to pray for the global church, hopefully remembering just how comfortable and privileged we are in the American church. We will continue our study of the Gospel of Matthew. Through it all, here is my hope:
May we commit to the work of God in the world as people formed into his image.
If we try and do his work on our own power, we can easily get burned out our wreak havoc in the lives of others. If we focus only on ourselves, we can miss the invitation to sacrificially “take up the cross” for the sake of others. We pray that this community finds a healthy and godly balance. And, to find that balance, one thing we must consider is these questions:
What are the masks you wear? Will we let God take them off?
Eager to worship with you this Sunday. Remember, there are LOTS of ways – listed below – to get connected with the work of God through Centennial, take a look!
Grace and peace,
Karl
