Celebration Flourish Edition!
January 2025
Hello Centennial, well more than likely, the torn wrapping paper is gone. The kids are still (hopefully) playing with the new toys and it’s time to celebrate what you, CCCer’s accomplished. And it was a lot! So many volunteers helped and so many gifts were purchased! Thank you Centennial! You have blessed more people than you ever thought possible. Go to the end of the newsletter for a count!

Centennial’s Middle School Youth Group
Wow! Our missions focused congregation is bringing up their kids to be the hands and feet of Jesus in their loving care to carry on their loving care of those in our community needing a hand up.
Centennial was once described as a church that competes above its weight class when it comes to missions. In other words, for a church our size we are involved in and support more missions than would normally be expected. What a compliment!
But it won’t keep happening if we don’t set expectations for our youth to follow us and develop a mission mindset. And to that end, our church Youth Director, Amelia Copple, led a group of Studio 72 students to our mission partner, North Littleton Promise, to help them put on their Annual Christmas Posada. Of the 64 people volunteering at Posada, 16 were from CCC! 10 youth and 6 adults helped with a program that served over 200 children and parents! Thank you to our 10 youth who volunteered, 6 adults, and a very big thanks to Director Amelia for her initiative in helping our youth develop their giving skills early! Here are some pictures of the fun/work the students did! They set up the tables and helped run activities during the Posada.
Jill Meyer leads the Parent Life initiative here at Centennial. Here’s what Jill had to say after the Parent Life Christmas party.
Once again Centennial Covenant was totally amazing! People bought $30+ gifts for 108 teen parents and their children!! The biggest party held was for the teens we work with at New Legacy High School in Aurora. That party was at our community center near the school. It was attended by 60+parents and children. Everyone was so appreciative of their gifts and said a huge ‘thank you’! Here are a few pictures.

With this organization we not only have gifts bought, but we also have volunteers who staffed the hospitality room at the Toy Store! And they had to show a lot of hospitality…over 300 kids were shopped for which means lots of parents were shopping and dropping in for coffee and cookies!
Here are the CCC volunteers ready to serve cookies! Thank you! These same people have volunteered year after year.
The gifts awaiting purchase for the 300 kids.
Centennial folks bring unwrapped Christmas gifts for children aged 0-18 to church for drop off or order them directly from Amazon for delivery to the Toy Store.
Parents signup and come to the Toy Store to shop for gifts for their children.
Parents buy the gifts for a reduced price of $5 per gift. This preserves the dignity of the parents and gives them a gift genuinely from them to the child for Christmas.
The gifts are wrapped for the parents, so they do not need wrapping supplies.
The parents enjoy the cookies, coffee and hospitality of the Centennial serving team while they wait.
And here we have CCC member Tushka Breen “dancing ‘round the Christmas tree!

Thank you CCC for your gifts, the time it took to buy them and to our loyal, year after year volunteers, led by Lee and Ellen Robinson.
So Centennial, I have been keeping a running total….200+ people served at the Posada, 109 gifts given to babies and toddlers at Parent Life, and 300+ parents given hospitality at the Mile High Toy Store, plus all your efforts in purchasing gifts.
That’s over 600 people impacted either directly or indirectly through your work, giving, and generosity. Thank you Centennial! Your LOVE is exceptional.
What a wonderful way to enter 2025! Happy New Year!
