Hello Centennial! The past 4 weeks we’ve had the opportunity to hear all about our local ministry partners who help those in our local community flourish! We partner with them to provide prayer, volunteer support, financial and gift support. On Sunday, October 1, we heard about the 30-year ministry of Jill Meyer with teen parents. Jill shared important observations of the ministry. I hope you will click here and listen to her message and how CCC has contributed during these years.

So, what are we focusing on this week? We have the HELP WANTED sign out at our ministry partners this week. Do you have a few hours that can make a difference?  How about joining together with your life group or book club group and putting together some snacks for elementary kids?

After a long day at school, our kids look forward to a healthy, delicious snack to kick off their time at the Kids Club (K-5th) after-school program.

We greatly appreciate your help in providing snacks & drinks for 30 kids on Tuesday, 15 kids on Thursday. Kids Club runs from 4:00-6:00 p.m., so please bring snacks at 3:45 p.m. for set-up. Our kids love fresh fruit or veggies, along with individual servings of juice! They love carrots, celery, cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, and lots of different fruits. (They are not crazy about broccoli, cauliflower, or bananas.)

We supplement these fresh snacks with items from our pantry (cookies, granola bars, etc.). Plates, napkins, and cutlery are provided. Feel free to add cookies in weeks with a special holiday. Homemade baked treats are welcome. For more information and to sign up for snacks, click here.

A FEW GOOD MEN…FOR A REAL GOOD CAUSE

Renewed Treasures, Love INC’s resale store on a mission, is breaking records and bursting at the seams.

No longer Littleton’s best-kept-secret, Renewed Treasures is very busy and they need more help…from men! The dozens of volunteers are mostly women and most of these women are not able to do some of the heavy lifting required to keep things running smoothly.

Store Manager Linda Jeffries would be SO HAPPY to have one shift a day filled by a man who can help with lifting and reaching and occasional repairing.

Can you help? Email Lindaj@loveinclittleton.org

Afternoons at the Master’s Apprentice mean two things: on-site visits to various construction sites to observe what various trades do on a daily basis, OR an afternoon spent with the smell of freshly sawed wood and the buzzing of saws in the background as carpentry skills are learned. Small projects the students complete with their newly acquired skills include cutting boards and birdhouses (see examples below)!

The Master’s Apprentice Program needs your woodworking skills and ability to bond with the students as you teach them.  Frequently the rapport built during these workshops give you the opportunity to share your faith and expertise in woodwork.  Interested? Contact Jude@themastersapprentice.org or go to the website:  http://themastersapprentice.org and check out the organization. 4 current CCC members serve as coaches to Master’s Apprentice and would love to talk to you about the opportunities in the program for volunteering. They are: Ron Mol, Pete Gammie, Amy Hughes and Robin Hurley.
