Good afternoon, Centennial!
Wonderful week of Fall weather we are having, aren’t we? Have you been to the mountains yet? Hopefully, you will get the opportunity to partake of the beauty of our state! In the meantime, however I hope you get the opportunity to partake of the beauty of our wonderful local ministry partners! Two are having big events in the next two weeks and we want to tell you all about them so you can RSVP and attend! So, let’s get started!
As you heard this week in church from Maureen Shannon, the executive director of North Littleton Promise, FIESTA is this Friday night, September 27! It’s a terrific opportunity to take advantage of some great food cooked up by the wonderful immigrant families that make up the larger NLP family. But more importantly, its an opportunity to visit with the kids and their parents who make NLP what it is! So please if you can, sign up through the registration button, and if at the last minute you CAN go, GO! You will have a lovely time mingling, eating, and sharing fellowship with others from CCC as well as NLP and other congregations from the Littleton area that support NLP!
But that’s not all! As Maureen shared on Sunday, 3 volunteers for afterschool on Thursdays are needed for the Middle School kids. Now Lee Robinson has been volunteering for 10 years with the middle schoolers and he’s had the opportunity to build relationships with many, many kids who have gone on to grow up and become adults. As a matter of fact, speaking of linkage with the kids, some have gone on to one of our other ministry partners, the Master’s Apprentice Program as students and are now electricians and warehouse managers in the construction trades! What an impact you can have! Is this something the Holy Spirit is nagging you a little bit about? Please sign up at the volunteer page of North Littleton Promise
Okay so maybe mentoring middle school students isn’t your “bag”, but I’ll bet you can either cook (and bring a casserole and fruit) for the middle and high school kids on Tuesdays or Thursdays, occasionally. Let’s get our life groups and friends together and sign up! There are lots of dates open starting October 3!
Centennial we can do this! Here is the sign up for providing food!

The next class of the Master’s Apprentice starts on Monday, October 14th! Will you be a part of this great program? If you have 2 mornings or afternoons a week to teach Math, Financial Literacy, work attitudes or possibly just a few afternoons when you could do practice interviewing with the students, give MAP a call! Here is what volunteer coaching looks like:
AND a couple of things to plan ahead for!
Grace Ellsworth, our In-House Love INC super volunteer, (along with many others at our church) is hosting a LoveINC Wipes Drive on Sunday, October 20th!
So please plan ahead to:
- Pick up a few baby wipes containers when they are on sale!
- Bring them to church Sunday, October 20 and leave them in Grace’s Big Box of Wipes!
- These will go to aid the Love INC Diaper Ministry!
-
Grace and many babies’ bottoms thank you!

Jill Meyer, our very own Centennial Parent Life ministry partner, has a garage full of donations for the Baby Boutique! This includes clothing to be sorted and kids’ items like highchairs that need some tender loving care! She doesn’t have a date lined up to have people come to her house and sort, but she’s taking names of those that would like to have a fun time together working on this worthy cause! If you are interested in helping, please contact Jill via text at 303-522-6332 and she will get in touch when she plans to get this done!
