Hey Centennial,
When was the last time you gave your home a deep clean?
I’ll be honest, cleaning is one of my least favorite things to do. I enjoy the results at the end, but I have to work hard to get myself to do the work. Though, I know there are some out there who love cleaning, even find it a good way to relax and relieve stress.
This Sunday, we continue our study of Matthew’s gospel and will be looking at the beginning of chapter 21. Just like we need to make time to clean our own homes, Jesus does a little “house cleaning” as well. This passage is sometimes referred to as
Jesus Cleanses the Temple.
Here’s the reality we need to get ourselves ready to consider. Just like Jesus went to Jerusalem to “clean house” in the temple, he also wants to do a little house cleaning in our own lives. He has let us know this clearly, the only question is,
Are we ready?
I pray we continue to be a community committed to eagerly welcoming whatever work God wants to do in us and through us by the power of his Spirit. May that be so!
Grace and peace,
Karl
