Hey Centennial,

Some people think Christians are judgmental.

Why is that?

Is that an accurate assessment or is it undeserved?

I think the answer is complicated.

Part of the reason may be that Christianity undeniably thinks sin is real, powerful, and destructive. Therefore, sin must be condemned. Yet, another reason may be that some Christians confront sin without providing any relational connection or support, that is most certainly not the way of God. How do we hold all this in balance?

If you have ever heard someone accuse Christianity of being a “closed-minded, judgmental” religion, or if you have ever wrestled with these thoughts yourself, I hope you come to Centennial this Sunday.

I can’t promise to answer all the questions, but we will certainly talk openly and try to find some clarity in an all too often foggy world.

Grace and peace,

Karl Helvig
Lead Pastor
CENTENNIAL COVENANT CHURCH

P.S. immediately after our worship gathering, there is a congregational meeting to vote on our new Youth Pastor Candidate Casey Hodges. Members, we need you present to establish a quorum and cast your ballots. Everyone is welcome to attend. This is an exciting time in the life of CCC!

P.P.S. CCC has several ministry partners that are doing amazing work in the community of South Denver. Take a second to consider where you might get plugged in if you have not already done so. Love INC, North Littleton Promise, and Master’s Apprentice are all fantastic ministries that I would love you to learn about and consider supporting with your time and energy.
