Hey Centennial,
Last week we asked the question, “Why bother taking your faith seriously?”. For the Christian, faith gives an eternal identity and hope-filled perspective from “above”. When we don’t bother to take our faith seriously, we fail to grow into our full identity in Christ and limit our ability to fulfill our spiritual purpose.
This week we will take a look with one of the ways that Christians nurture their faith – through their study of the Bible. In Psalm 119, God’s written word is referred to as a “lamp” to guide us as we walk the path of faith. The Gospels often tell us that Jesus took time to explain the scriptures to his disciples. Some of us may see the Bible as a good, but confusing book. For others, the Bible is a source of comfort and hope. A few of us may feel guilt or shame that we just can’t seem to study it with any consistency.
This week, Rebecka Sutton’s sermon is titled, “Why Bother with the Bible?” She will be sharing load of practical ideas and simple principles to help the Bible be exactly the lamp God desires. You might want to take some notes! We hope this week’s sermon will leave you bothered and encouraged.
Grace and peace,
Karl
