Hey Centennial,
My brother-in-law is a big fan of automobiles and I’ll sometimes talk to him about horsepower. At the gym, there are some incredibly strong people sometimes called power lifters. Our former Council chair, Kevin Pera, works for Excel energy and deals in electric power. You need power, the right kind and enough of it, to do all sorts of things in life. But, what about life in general? When you feel like your energy is drained, your patience is gone, your nerves are frayed, you have decision fatigue, or you’re just plain done; what do you do?
Where do you get the power you need?
What kind of power enables you to flourish?
This Sunday is the second week in our summer sermon series, Why Would Anybody Come to Our Church? I’m not sure whether you have ever asked yourself that question, but my hope is that by the end of the summer everyone who calls Centennial their home would have a clear, compelling, and easy to share answer. We will spend this week again answering a more fundamental question, “What is a church?” And the answer we consider comes from Acts chapters 1–5.
The church is a gathering of people empowered by the Holy Spirit.
If you have ever felt like life is draining your power faster than you can replenish it, I hope you make it a priority to gather with your Centennial community this weekend. Heck, we even say regularly that we want people to easily “get plugged in.” My prayer is that we all walk away with a clearer and more confident connection to the greatest source of power we could ever have.

CENTENNIAL COVENANT CHURCH
P.S. Remember, when you’re hosting your community BBQ – grill is in the front driveway, tables full of food to share, a cooler full of ice cold beverages, all the kids made their way into your back yard swimming pool – and your neighbor says something like, “Oh, I don’t know about church or religion.” You can always casually reply, “Why don’t you come sit with me at my church this Sunday?” You never know where that conversation may go. I bet we’d be surprised at how many people take us up on the offer. You can’t know until you ask.
P.P.S. If you have a couple extra hours next week, would you consider helping make our annual Eagle Lake Day camp a huge success? We need just a couple more volunteers to help out with some simple but super important things. SIGN UP HERE.
Also, do you have a trailer? The Middle School Adventure Trip is next week and they need a small trailer to haul supplies and luggage. If you have one, please contact Nicki at NNickerson@centcov.org.
