Good afternoon, Centennial!  At this past weekend’s Prayer and Vision Night, I heard a couple of individuals speak to the need for CCC to be a resource for our surrounding communities such as Littleton, Centennial and Highlands Ranch.  Agreed!  We are and can continue to be a resource for them!  Not only is Centennial a spiritual haven for the community, but it’s also a place of community where you know a lot of people!  Not only that but we are a caring community:  while we do a great job of taking care of the needs of our congregation, through our ministry partners we are taking care of the needs of our surrounding communities.  I hope you find this monthly newsletter useful for that very purpose – to make you aware of the care opportunities within our community so we can serve as a resource.  Let’s keep in mind the people within the community that we are serving with each ministry partner:

Love INC – those in need in our communities-with prayer support, emotional support, assistance through local churches to support gas and grocery needs, clothing and furniture at reduced prices. Also, the support of the IMPACT classes which have grown into a sizable and sustained resource for ongoing personal and spiritual development.

Master’s Apprentice – a hand up via a 6-week educational program to assist young people who predominantly have struggled throughout their lives to turn the paradigm around and obtain good careers in the construction trades.

MomCO – a wonderful learning and caregiving support program for the mothers of children – both preschoolers and older children which meets here at Centennial.  The program is driven by outside speakers who provide learning as well as the years of experience in child raising by the mentor moms who provide the emotional and learned support.

North Littleton Promise – A Northeast Littleton Program that focuses on children predominantly from immigrant families providing educational support, sports and Christian education.  The program has developed a strong added programming for the mothers of the children which supports them via Bible studies and English classes.  A recent program addition has offered Spanish classes to the surrounding community and church families.

Parent Life – a division of Youth for Christ, the program focuses on mentoring teenage parents, predominantly moms, many of whom are in difficult circumstances.  Right now, the program has 23 mentor moms, who work with up to several teens at a time giving them loving support, guidance, and life with Christ personal experience.  As you can imagine this means there are a lot of young teens who are mentored around the metro area.

Should you desire to make a difference with our community through these programs, here are some ways you can help.  If helping isn’t in your wheelhouse right now – we all have seasons we can help and seasons we are swamped, please pray for the programs and their success in reaching those in our community which needs a Christian perspective and social/financial assistance.  Thank you!
