Hey Centennial,
When have you eagerly anticipated something?
Maybe it was the arrival of friends and family for a holiday, the arrival of a new baby in the family, or waiting to hear back about that dream job you applied to. Regardless, anticipation is a common – and often joy-filled – experience.
This Sunday is the beginning of Holy Week, the time we remember the events leading up to the death and resurrection of Jesus. Holy Week is commonly thought of as a time of anticipation. It is the culmination of the season of Lent, during which Jesus’ followers intentionally build their anticipation for Easter Sunday.
Holy Week begins with Palm Sunday. You can read about it in the gospel of John chapter 12 where we will be spending some time Sunday morning.
Make sure to come to church next Friday evening for our Good Friday service, April 7th at 6:30 pm. Bring a lawn chair or blanket as (weather allowing) we will gather in the field on the North of our property. Good Friday is the day we remember Jesus’ crucifixion.
Finally, April 9th is Easter Sunday. This is the day of the greatest importance in the Christian faith, and it is going to be an awesome morning of worship. Our gatherings will be at their normal times, 9:00 and 10:30 am.
Grace and peace,
Karl Helvig
