Hey Centennial,

What have your voices been saying to you lately?

I don’t remember the exact book where I first encountered that question, but it’s stuck with me ever since. Most people know exactly what I mean. We all carry voices—some kind, some cruel—that whisper in our ears, shout over our thoughts, and disturb our peace. And if we’re ever going to overcome their destructive pull, there’s a critical first step:

We must be vulnerable enough to name them.

Scripture teaches that light drives out darkness. Naming the voices brings them into the light—and begins to break their power over us.

If you, like so many, wrestle with negative thoughts and inner noise, this Sunday’s message will offer real, practical ways to drown out those voices and discover the peace God provides.

And as we shift into the new rhythms of summer—swapping school calendars for travel and activity—remember to listen closely for the Three Not’s. Take notice when someone says:

“I’m not from here.”

“I was not ready for ___.”

“I’m not doing well with ___.”

When you hear one of those, consider it an invitation. That might be the moment to say, “Want to come sit with me at church?” You could even share a quick story of how this community helped you when you weren’t ready or weren’t doing well. A simple word of welcome might be exactly what someone needs.

Grace and peace,

Karl

P.S. Remember, Congregational Meeting immediately after worship as well as our first Lunch on the Lawn of the summer!

P.P.S. New CCC App roll out coming soon. Many of you use our church app for things like sermons notes or online giving. Unfortunately, it has also been a fairly high-cost product. Therefore, we are moving to a cheaper platform that integrates more seamlessly with our website. Our current app will stop functioning on July 1st. Keep your eyes open this summer for information on the new app rollout.
