Hey Centennial,
Have you ever lost perspective?
I bet you have, we all have. When we lose perspective, we become too narrowly focused on details, emotions, or short-term concerns. Losing perspective is losing sight of broader context or values. In my mind, the greatest danger of losing perspective is that we fail to even notice the consequences of our blindness because we no longer see what we need to. More often than not, we need someone else to remind us, call us back, and reorient our focus. Whether in our relationships, career, vocation, or as a church,
When we lose perspective, we need help regaining perspective.
This Sunday, we are going to read a story where Jesus reminds his disciples about the power and importance of perspective. Specifically, for all who would follow him,
We need to maintain a Kingdom perspective.
Are you getting bogged down or overwhelmed in the day to day of parenting, is there a stressor in your marriage that constantly gnaws at you, have you struggled to maintain close friendships as the pace of life keeps increasing, is the pressure dangerously high? Regardless of the forces that may be pushing you to lose perspective, I invite you to gather with your church community together, praying with and for one another, so that we can be reminded of the power and importance of a Kingdom perspective.
Eager to worship with our church community!
Grace and peace,
Karl
P.S. If you are new to CCC or know someone who is, make sure to join us for a free lunch immediately after worship Sunday. The event is called Taste of Centennial, and it is a great way for people to get to know the ministries and leaders of this community. Childcare is provided, including lunch for the kids as well. If you think of it, shoot a quick note to Stef, sbergstrom@centcov.org, to let her know you will be there. Or just show up, there’s room!
