Hey Centennial,

Bring your journal (again!) to worship on Sunday.

For all of September, we are focusing on journaling as a spiritual practice. Specifically, during each worship gathering we will create space to listen for God’s leading, then write down in our journals the direction we sense God directing and the growth to which we hear God call. My hope is that we all take seriously the reality that discipleship begins with discernment. Putting God’s word at the center of our lives, we must consider how he is calling us to apply it, then pursue that call in the context of our community. I hope this is the beginning of a transformative year of following Jesus for us all!

We also have a lot happening around CCC to create spaces for sharing this journey of discipleship:

  • The growth challenge begins this Sunday with our Introduction to the Growth Challenge Classes. Today is the last day to sign up.

  • Look below for information on our Four Adult Education Classes. They will begin the first Sunday of October. See below for more information or here.

  • We have a congregational meeting on Sunday September 29th immediately after worship. You will hear a report on finances and be presented with a budget proposal for the 2024-2025 ministry year.

Last but not least, we continue our study of Matthew, finishing chapter 12 this Sunday. We will hear a bunch of ideas from Jesus. Tie up the strong man, grow good fruit, think about Johan, clean your house, and make the kingdom your family. They all circle around one central question,

What are you going to do about the kingdom?

I am eager to gather with the Centennial community!

Grace and peace,

Karl

P.S. Remember to bring your journal every Sunday in September, we will engage with it during worship.
