Centennial Covenant Church Job Description Youth Pastor
As a multi-generational church, Centennial Covenant desires to pass on a vibrant legacy of faith in Jesus Christ from one generation to the next. The primary role of the Youth Pastor is to build a growing and healthy ministry of Spiritual transformation and leadership development with students grades 6-12. The person in this position will provide Christ-centered, enthusiastic leadership while developing a highly relational program with both students and volunteer leadership teams. This is a 3⁄4 time exempt position.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruit, train and disciple lay leaders in accordance with the overall philosophy of ministry and alignment with the Mission and Vision of Centennial Covenant.
- Demonstrate genuine love and solid rapport with young people, being sensitive to the needs and pressures facing teens today. Be an ongoing student of the culture.
- Oversee regular Bible teaching and youth programing.
- Develop a year-long ministry strategy that supports the vision and philosophy of the youth ministry ofCentennial Covenant church. This includes but is not limited to camps, retreats, special events, Bible
studies, service projects and family milestone events.
- With a multi-generational focus, develop ways to integrate student ministry into the life of the church,such as participation in Sunday worship, church outreach events and ministry service opportunities.
- Network with the Evangelical Covenant Front Range Youth Pastor Coalition and participate in camps andconferences when possible.
Spiritual and Personal Qualifications:
- Exhibits a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and growth in Christian character. Able to articulate a personal faith journey and identify examples of spiritual life transformation; 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9, 1 Peter 5:1-3
- Has a heart for God and desire to serve the Church within this community. Identifies being “called’ to serve God in this position.
- Loves God’s Word and its power to transform lives.
- Able to exercise initiative and judgment as an independent leader, yet a fully engaged team player withinthe church staff.
- Has proven ability to lead, communicate well and organize with good time management skills.
- College graduate essential. Seminary degree strongly preferred.
- Can fully align with the church’s Covenant Affirmations, Mission and Priority Callings as noted on thechurch website at www.centcov.org “What We Believe”.
- 2-4 years of ministry experience with demonstrated competency in youth formation.
- Able to carry up to thirty pounds.

Time commitment: This is a 3/4 time exempt position
