About the Growth Challenge
The Growth Challenge is a program with four key components:
1. Attend an Introductory Class
Choose between The Basics or Going Deeper.
2. Meet with a Coach
Meet three times for 60–90 minutes between September 28, 2025 and February 8, 2026.
3. Meet with a Growth Group
Meet six times for 60 minutes between October 5, 2025 and February 8, 2026.
4. Personal Practice
The time you spend on the challenge will vary based on your personal growth desire. The material can easily be integrated into your existing routine.

Group FAQs
What is a Growth Group?
A Growth Group is a small group of 5–6 Growth Challenge participants, led by a trained leader who will guide you in practicing Group Spiritual Direction.
What is Group Spiritual Direction?
According to Alice Fryling:
“The purpose of spiritual direction groups is formation—a process of being conformed to the image of Christ for the sake of others. Group spiritual direction helps each participant become more aware of God in their life, grow in faith, love others more fully, and join in the mission of the church.”
Coach FAQs
Why would I need a Growth Coach (GC)?
Think of a GC as someone walking alongside you—listening, paying attention to the Holy Spirit as you share, and offering resources and encouragement along the way.
Is this someone here at church?
Yes! We have eleven trained coaches who have prayed, prepared, and are excited to meet with our Growth Challenge participants.
What am I supposed to share with my GC?
You’ll receive clear guidance for your GC meetings during the Introduction to the Growth Challenge class—whether you take The Basics or Going Deeper.
Is this like a counseling session?
No, this is different from therapy. If you and your GC discern that additional support would be helpful, we will encourage you to seek therapy or other resources.

How do I fit the Growth Challenge into my already busy schedule?
The Growth Challenge is designed to be self-paced and to fit naturally into the life you already lead.
When do I need to register?
Registration will close on August 31. However, some of the Intro classes begin on August 24.
